Osaka Yoga Classes!

Many of you have met my friend Leigh by now, through our various photo and video projects... but now meet the real-everyday Leigh ;) Humble, loving, and wise, she is dedicated to practicing Ashtanga style yoga and she now has the space to share it with you (and me)! She is recently back from studying in India and is always full of insights and motivation to get you into your practice.

Check out her blog here: http://brinsonleighkresge.blogspot.com/p/current-class-schedule-and-other.html You'll find the class schedule- two a week! map, and bio. and you can read more of her thoughts and experience with yoga... hope to see you there!

Leigh does Laundry

My lovely friend Leigh had this concept kind of like a broken doll in a laundromat. Instantly I was up for the task and just had to get over my shyness of shooting in a public place (in a small neighborhood laundromat in Japan)- which we had already done a few times.. but still.
We pretty much had the place to ourselves until Leigh had her feet partially in one of the dryers and the owner came out from the hidden backroom and said- basically we could do what we want- but no feet in the dryer! We guess he'd been watching us on some spy cam for the whole hour before we got to that!
Here are just a few shots, there are a few more here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/mofotoflickr/

Enjoy!

Japan Cat Network!

I recently had the pleasure of volunteering at the Japan Cat Network near Hikone, about an hour north of Osaka. This is a one-of-a kind shelter, run by two Americans wanting to make a difference in the lives of Japan's street cats. Not only do they shelter about 50 cats and kittens, they run a Trap Neuter and Release program (TNR) that is helping to insure the safety of Japan's homeless kitties and lessen the strain on local communities. Many people contact them if they find abandoned kittens and Japan Cat Network works at getting these kitties healthy and then adopted.
I took lots of photos of these cuties with the hopes that in seeing these pictures, people will want to adopt or foster these kitties. If you can't do either, perhaps you could donate or volunteer your time giving these cats love!
Please contact Japan Cat Network with any questions!

"in the fishbowl."

Yatta! We did it! Leigh and I finally completed our second Imageography project! We did the shoot in July and just finished the edit. We love the result and hope you will enjoy it too! Luckily Leigh is not a shy gal and she was up for dancing around amongst many people going to and from in the OCAT Namba station walkway.
The middle scene is shot from me staying in one place on the people mover- to give you perspective. Leigh danced the long length of it many times till we got it just right!
Please enjoy this soothing beautiful artistry :) and don't forget to let me know what you think?

Image[ography]

Like videography, Image[ography] is my definition for creating a video like sequence with still images only. I've had this idea brewing, then I met Leigh and she shared similar thoughts.
On top of being a beautiful woman and friend, Leigh is an amazing dancer, yogi and writer.
She wrote a poem and we complied it together, and went with a very loose plan.
This is what came of it. WATCH THE SHORT VIDEO NOW!
We are so excited to share this with you and the world, so please comment!
There will be many more Image[ography] projects to follow in Japan!

Here are some of the shots I loved...

WATCH the video Relent.
Thanks!

with Love from Osaka!

Hello World! Sorry I've been MIA for a while... well at least on MoFoto, but I have been keeping up with our Japan blog: Boltonsans.blogspot.com please find much up to date stuff there! I am also keeping up with My Daily Pic on Flickr!
We've been living in Osaka, Japan for about 7 weeks now! Jeff and I are working for ECC teaching English. The work is great and it's really fun meeting and talking with so many Japanese people! We haven't made it out of the city too much yet, but right now is Sakura season- when the cherry blossoms are blooming so I've been inspired to get out and take some pics! Last week we went to Kyoto for the day and this weekend we plan to visit Nara as well.
Many pinhole and holga images are in the works and I hope to have some great shots to show you soon.
I've already been feeling the itch to take some people pics, so if you or anyone you know is in the Kansai area please contact me! I'm not sure how people here would feel about a "trash the dress" shoot, but I would love to get my hands on a willing couple!

Please contact me on www.morganpace.com or find me on Facebook under Morgan Pace.
I look forward to hearing from you!

Here's one pic from last week in Kyoto... this scene was sooo amazing... Im not sure if it gets much better than this for me?!
