portland classical chinese garden delights!
if you live in portland or have ever visited portland before i hope you have had the chance to experience the lovely portland classical chinese garden! these are just some of the delights that you can see there this month... these were taken 2 years ago around this time.

i've had this idea for a longtime...
...to dedicate a section on my website to showcase my friends photography works! i thought i could just post one new persons work per month, but how do i choose who goes first? well i decided to start now, with my long time friend ahna! whos birthday happens to be today! and so i will start with my dear pisces friends and go on to aries after this month... janda and zeyneb im going to be contacting you soon! eventually i hope this will transpire to my website... but for now this will do!
So here's to ahna, my friend since 7th grade, and college roommate of 4 plus years! she went on 2 more years to be a marine biologist, and fulfilled my once childhood dream! she currently lives with a beautiful view of the ocean in newport, or. and i see her occasionally as her and matt stop in town before heading out to some snowy cold mountain to do fast dangerous sports:)
she sent me some beautiful photos of her various travels from around the greater north west. true to her pisces nature she loves to be around water, and you'll see these pics reflect that- even if it is frozen :)

ok, so i had to dig for this pic, i have tons of pics of ahna and i- but most of those were before my digital camera came and therefor stored away in some book, jeff took this one probably 5 years ago? in shasta- obviously we were still into wearing out u of o gear :)
i have another wonderful pisces friend... cori! cori is an amazing painter who i met in eugene, some 5 years ago or so.. she taught me and ahna how to make and bind our own books and she has continued to inspire me as she makes and sells her art for a living in san pancho, mexico... since she paints the most amazing paintings, im going to posta few of my favorites, which is really just the tip of the iceberg of my list of favorites. you must check out her website to see all!

sonia & mark's wedding :: february 9th
this wedding was filled with so much love and peace, it was a joy just to be there! sonia and mark had a buddhist ceremony at the daharma rain zen center in se portland, i love the flowers in her hair...
after the ceremony we walked down the street to the lighthouse intentional community, where friends, family, a pot luck dinner, music and dancing was waiting...
i think this shot is so sweet... the lensbaby makes that awesome blur all around them.

last weekend we went to see rig & pants in thedallas
on our way home we took the scenic waterfall route up
to crown point, didn't stop at any falls, but saw a nice
sunset down the gorge...
we saw a bald eagle too!
The cat so cool, she even has her own flickr account!

trash the dress?!
yes! trash your dress! i know the sound of that has some people bitting their nails, but really as the official website points out "it's about creation, not destruction..." and that's what i set out to do when i met up with the fabulous emily sixx and the lovely connie mae while i was in miami last week with jeff. they are fellow photographers who volunteered their time to engage in this fun project and i am soo lucky i met them! thanks craiglist!
